Karl Hammerle (Jake Matthews)
Rising up in the ranks of New York City Theatre and Film, Karl Hammerle shows marvelous promise and fortitude as a young actor. Born in the city of Hackensack, New Jersey, Karl quickly took to performing and entertaining at a young age.  With much encouragement from his father, and electrical engineer, and his mother, an English teacher, his intrigue and love for music blossomed quickly into a career of vocal and guitar performance by the age of 12.  This paved the way for his acceptance into New York University for Jazz Performance and Music Technology.  However, equally significant was the inception of Hammerle’s acting career here at NYU, through the school’s revered film department.
Following Karl’s involvement in many student films and NYU-TV projects, he landed lead roles in a few independent films including “Americana” and “Girls, Robots, and Digital Cameras.” Some Off-Broadway musicals and theatre productions that were pleased to have Hammerle on their stage include “Rumors,” at the 13th St. Rep. Theatre and “Voices…” at Playwrights Horizons.  Karl can be seen as a featured extra as well, in both Julie Taymor’s “Across the Universe,” and James Foley’s, “Perfect Stranger.”
Having recently graduated from NYU and earning a B.A. of Music, Karl is continually dedicating every day to the pursuit of art, in acting and music.  Currently his band, Sunrise on Saturn, is in studio recording for upcoming live releases.  Karl can also be found throughout the tri-state area performing live solo shows.  Also, look for him in a soon to be released NCAA/AT&T commercial as a studious yet eccentric tennis player, and in many more extra roles for feature film
Presently, Karl Hammerle can be seen throughout March as Jesus in “The Passion Play,” at the Off-Broadway Park Performing Arts Theatre, and in showcasing and performances as a member of The Actors Project NYC, at the Abbington Theatre.
